Animal Caretaker

Job Description: Daily, thorough cleaning of all animal areas, including inside/outside runs, cat areas, floors, dishes, bedding, etc. Feeding animals, monitoring health and documenting, grooming, socializing animals, cleaning, mopping, assisting the public with adoptions or those who have lost pets, assisting with exams, stocking, helping at special events, maintaining animal records, accurate record keeping, inventory, etc.

Classroom Assistant

Job Description:

  • Assist teaching staff with classroom routines, transitions, and activities for all children within the program.
  • Assist in maintaining the center in a clean and sanitary condition.
  • Provide general support to the center as needed, which may include assisting with meal preparation and service and janitorial services.
  • Follow Licensing Child Care Regulations for the State of Wisconsin and ADA Standards, CAP Employee Handbook and NAEYC Code of Ethics.

  • Completion of high school or equivalent and completion of one course in Early Childhood Education from an institute of higher education.
  • Must obtain and maintain a current certificate of completion for infant and child cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) within 3 months of hire and a certificate of completion of Shaken Baby Syndrome training prior to working at the center.

Job Description: The Shelter Advocate is responsible for providing trauma-informed direct services to victims of domestic abuse and their children including assistance with daily living needs, support, advocacy, crisis intervention, safety planning, parenting support, information, and referrals. This position is also responsible for cleaning and preparing rooms for new residents, ensuring common areas remain clean, ensuring a welcoming and safe living environment for residents, and answering the 24-hour crisis line to provide emergency support to victims.

Skills needed: Experience in or ability to provide support services to adults, and youth utilizing residential services; knowledge of and sensitivity to issues related to domestic abuse, sexual assault, and harassment; an understanding of trauma and its effects on individuals and families, knowledge of coping skills and strategies; and be a creative problem solver. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills; and be able to work with high conflict and emotional situations. Physical ability to clean along with lift and move furniture as needed.
