Mid-State to host fall 2023 Program Showcase career exploration event

October 3, 2023

Mid-State Technical College will host its biannual Program Showcase event on Tuesday, Oct. 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on the Wisconsin Rapids Campus. The Program Showcase career exploration event is for 9th and 10th graders.

The event allows students the opportunity to meet with current Mid-State students, staff and program faculty, while seeing campus labs and experiencing the hands-on learning that Mid-State offers. Students are provided a bingo card of all participating programs with the goal of stopping by as many stations as they can.

“Program Showcase is a long-standing event for high school students early on in their high school career that allows them to explore all areas of the College,” said Jackie Esselman, dean of Recruitment & Admissions. “It’s an opportunity to get students thinking about what might be next after high school.”

“Exploratory events are so important to help expose high school students to all career opportunities,” Esselman added. “Students looking for program-specific opportunities should keep an eye out for more events, like the Program Exploration event series. These events allow for a more in-depth exploration opportunity in specific areas of study.”

Program Showcase is split into a morning session from 8:30 to 11 a.m. and an afternoon session from 12 to 2:30 p.m. Due to high demand, both sessions have limited spots available.
