Co-Curricular Student Learning Outcomes

At Mid-State Technical College, we believe learning occurs throughout the college experience, including through activities outside the classroom. These activities, called co-curricular activities, include:

  • Academic Advising
  • Career Services
  • Clubs & Organizations
  • Disability Services
  • Diversity Activities
  • First-Year Experience
  • Student Employment
  • Student Government (Student Leadership Board)
  • Student Life
  • Tutoring Services

Student learning outcomes for each of the above activities define what students will know, do, or demonstrate by participating in these activities. These learning outcomes are aligned with the College’s Employability Skills and based on the Council for Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS) as they were developed to support learning that occurs in student services and supportive programs.

Assessment of these co-curricular student learning outcomes is included in the College’s Five-Year Assessment Plan.  Assessment data is used to improve learning within the co-curricular activities.
