Mid-State Technical College, in partnership with the Wisconsin Rapids Fire Department, will host the annual Central Wisconsin Fall Fire Conference on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Mid-State’s Wisconsin Rapids Campus.

Fire department and EMS personnel are invited to attend the event featuring opportunities for professional growth through networking, collaboration and presentations delivered by keynote speaker Michael M. Dugan. Dugan will discuss ventilation and the problems and effects on today’s fire buildings as well as leadership in today's fire service and how to avoid fire injuries and deaths.

He is a 27-year veteran of the New York Fire Department (FDNY) and served as captain of Ladder Company 123 in Crowns Heights, Brooklyn, before his retirement. He is a member of the Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) International and Fire Engineering advisory boards. He is the recipient of the 2020 Tom Brennan Lifetime Achievement Award.

Through generous donations of Conway Shields, Ho-Chunk Gaming Nekoosa, Stryker Emergency Care and Domtar Nekoosa, the cost for the Central Wisconsin Fall Fire Conference is $15 per person for the full-day session. Registration is required.
