Mid-State Technical College named 2025 Member of the Year by HOW Chamber
The Heart of Wisconsin (HOW) Chamber of Commerce has named Mid-State Technical College its 2025 Member of the Year, reserved for businesses who exemplify the qualities of a dedicated and engaged chamber supporter. The award was presented at HOW’s 77th Annual Meeting Awards Banquet on Thursday, March 6, in Wisconsin Rapids.
Member of the Year candidates have consistently demonstrated regular attendance, and active involvement in various chamber events throughout the year. These businesses not only attend events but actively contribute to the goals and objectives of the organization, embodying the spirit of collaboration.
For over a century, Mid-State Technical College has been a driving force in education and workforce advancement, continuously adapting to meet the evolving needs of students, businesses and the community. Mid-State’s staff members attend, speak at and host HOW events as well as contribute as sponsors. They also hold HOW leadership roles such as serving on the Board of Directors.
“At Mid-State, we take great pride in being an engaged and active member of the Chamber, consistently working to support its mission and initiatives,” said Dr. Brigitta Altmann-Austin, Mid-State’s dean of the Wisconsin Rapids Campus and Schools of Applied Technology and General Education. “Whether through collaborative events, community outreach or workforce training programs, we strive to contribute meaningfully to the success of our region. This award reflects the dedication of our faculty, staff and students, who continuously seek opportunities to connect, support and grow alongside our business and industry partners.”
"Although recognition is never the driver of Mid-State’s commitment to its communities, we are incredibly proud and honored to be named Heart of Wisconsin’s 2025 Member of the Year," said Mid-State President Dr. Shelly Mondeik. "We look forward to continuing our support for the HOW Chamber and our Wisconsin Rapids community, fostering new partnerships and creating lasting opportunities now and into the future.”
