Mid-State students have access to new transfer agreement with University of Maryland Global Campus
Students at Mid-State Technical College will now benefit from a transfer agreement between the University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) and the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS). The agreement permits transfer into one of the university’s 125+ online academic programs with tuition and transfer-credit benefits.
Under the agreement, each WTCS student who completes an associate degree receives guaranteed admission into a UMGC bachelor’s degree program in a complementary field of study. The UMGC application fee is waived, there is a discount on tuition and the student can automatically transfer 60 or more credits toward a bachelor’s degree. Employees, spouses and dependents of the Wisconsin Technical College System are also eligible for these benefits.
“We are always happy to welcome new agreements with four-year partners that open up educational pathways for our students,” said Suzanne Rathe, Mid-State’s executive dean of Academics. “This new transfer agreement is yet another great option for Mid-State graduates who plan to go on to attain a bachelor’s degree.”
“We are extremely proud to join with the Wisconsin Technical College System and provide students with a seamless pathway toward a bachelor’s degree through a process that will ensure UMGC accepts as much credit and prior learning as possible,” said Blakely Pomietto, senior vice president and chief academic officer at UMGC. “Through these important alliances, the university is committed to supporting community college transfer students around the country in reaching their educational goals as affordably and efficiently as possible.”
UMGC offers award-winning online, in-person and hybrid programs in biotechnology, cybersecurity, data analytics, information technology and other career fields that are in high demand in today’s increasingly technical, global workplace.
