Mid-State’s spring commencement set for May 13
Mid-State Technical College will host its spring graduation on Saturday, May 13, with an outdoor ceremony designed to celebrate all graduating students, their families, invited guests and the College. The event begins at 11 a.m. on the Wisconsin Rapids Campus.
Construction Electrician (ABC) apprenticeship graduate Spencer Olejniczak, Thorp, will deliver the student address. The faculty send-off will be delivered by Edward Crownhart, Construction Electrician apprenticeship instructor, who is retiring from the College after 24 years of teaching. The event will also feature an address from Mid-State’s Interim Board Chairperson Richard Merdan and a keynote address from the retiring Vice President of Academics Dr. Deb Stencil.
The ceremony will take place in the campus parking lot with large screen monitors providing a view of the proceedings in real time. Graduates will be seated in front of the stage before going up to receive their diploma. Guests will view from their cars in the parking spaces behind the seated graduates. The ceremony will be broadcast over outdoor speakers as well as radio for sound. A reception following the main event will include refreshments and photo opportunities.
In-person attendance is reserved for ticket holders. The event will also be livestreamed for anyone wishing to join remotely.
