Mid-State’s School of Nursing achieves perfect NCLEX pass rate
Mid-State Technical College Nursing students have again achieved stellar results on the 2023 National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) exam, this time earning a pass rate of 100 percent in 2023, as reported by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing.
The result is significantly higher than the national pass rate of 87.8 percent, highlighting the College’s commitment to producing highly qualified and competent nursing professionals who provide safe and effective care to individuals and communities.
“We take great pride in our Nursing graduates, who have the knowledge and skills needed for success in the real world, where patient-centered care is critical,” said Deb Johnson-Schuh, Mid-State’s dean of the School of Nursing.
Graduates of accredited nursing programs in the United States must pass the NCLEX before they can become licensed to practice as a registered nurse (RN). Passing this exam indicates that nursing graduates have the necessary knowledge and skills to provide safe and effective nursing care. The exam is widely considered an excellent benchmark for comparing the relative quality of nursing programs.
“Many factors contribute to the success of our program, from our Nursing faculty who represent diverse backgrounds to the support of our clinical sites and partnering agencies, she added. “It’s wonderful to see our hard-working students capitalize on this support system with a perfect pass rate on the NCLEX-RN."
Mid-State Nursing students also have the unique opportunity to learn and practice their assessment and patient care skills at Mid-State’s Healthcare Simulation Center located at Aspirus Riverview Hospital, Johnson-Schuh added. “Mid-State’s state-of-art simulation center allows us to create realistic clinical scenarios that challenge students to use critical thinking when providing nursing care.”
