Mid-State instructor to serve on The Registry, Inc. Board of Directors

April Hartjes, Mid-State Technical College Early Childhood Education instructor and program director, has been selected to serve on The Registry, Inc.’s Governing Board. She will begin the first year of her three-year term in August.

“I am excited about the opportunity to represent Mid-State Technical College, central Wisconsin and early childhood education professionals on The Registry Board,” said April Hartjes, Early Childhood Education instructor and program director. “I am passionate about education and look forward to using my background as both an early childhood education professional as well as an early childhood education instructor to serve the states of Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.” 

"Mid-State Technical College is so fortunate to have high quality faculty members, like April, who bring a rich combination of education and work experience into our classrooms,” said Trina Kloehn, associate dean of the School of Business & Information Technology. “April works tirelessly to support her students and the need for quality early childhood education professionals in our central Wisconsin communities. Her new appointment to The Registry, Inc. Board of Directors will provide yet another opportunity for April to support and advocate for this important career."

According to Bianca Hill, president of The Registry, Inc. Governing Board, Hartjes will be an excellent asset to the organization. “April’s dedication to the early childhood education workforce and clear leadership qualities will be a benefit to our organization and the states we serve,” she said.

The Registry, Inc. oversees the management of the early childhood care and after-school education workforce registries for the states of Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. They provide accurate documentation of members’ professional development journeys, in addition to collecting and publishing data that informs public policy and advocacy efforts.
