Mid-State highlights early college pathway for high school students

September 6, 2023

Mid-State Technical College’s new Fast-Track pathway offers high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to start or complete a Mid-State program before graduating. Through Mid-State Fast-Track, students earn high school and college credit at the same time and receive access to Mid-State support and services.

Most Mid-State certificates and degree programs are available to high school students through Mid-State Fast-Track, with only a few programs ineligible due to age requirements.

“Mid-State Fast-Track is perfect for high school students, whether they know what program they want to pursue or just want to sample college life,” said Jackie Esselman, dean of Recruitment & Admissions. “It is a great opportunity to get ahead in college, add a credential to your résumé or find your fit in a career, while enjoying all the perks that come along with being a Mid-State student. Students involved in the Fast-Track program have full access to Mid-State support services to ensure their success.”

Some students may be eligible to enroll in Mid-State Fast-Track at no cost, through Start College Now, a state program that allows high school juniors and seniors enrolled in a public school district who are in good academic standing to take classes at Mid-State. Start College Now funding applications must be submitted by October 1 for spring start or March 1 for fall start.
