Mid-State Technical College has served the Marshfield community for over 100 years, and we currently offer over 90 program options available to train for careers right here in the area. The Mid-State on Central location complements our full-service campus located at 2600 West 5th Street but will allow us to better connect with the community, highlight program options, and serve local businesses and individuals in a convenient location.

This January, Mid-State on Central will feature programs and careers in agriculture! Do you work in ag today or just dream of a career in this exciting field? The agriculture programs at Mid-State are designed to fit within a busy schedule.

Name the Robotic Dog!

Meet Mid-State Technical College’s newest team member: a cutting-edge quadruped robot designed to showcase the future of technology! This “dog of the future” is here to celebrate Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month and inspire creativity in robotics and automation. 

We need YOUR help to give this high-tech pup the perfect name! Whether you’re a student, community member, or industry professional, this is your chance to be part of Mid-State history. The top three name submissions will receive a prize!

How it Works

• Throughout the month of February: Name nominations will be accepted. 
• March 5: The top three name nominations will be selected. 
• March 5-10: Final voting will occur on Mid-State’s Facebook page.
• March 10: The name and winner will be announced on social media.

How to Participate

• Stop into Mid-State on Central or the AMETA™ Center on the following dates:
  • Mid-State on Central: Saturday, February 1 - Saturday, February 8
    • Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
    • Tuesday and Thursday: Noon – 6:00 p.m.
    • Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
  • AMETA Center: Monday, February 10 – Friday, February 28
    • Monday – Thursday: 7:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
    • Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
• Meet the currently unnamed robot dog, get to know its personality, and select a name that fits.
• Fill out the name nomination form in-person.
• Watch on Mid-State’s social media for voting to open on March 5 and for the name announcement on March 10.

Academic Coach Office Hours

Academic coaches from our Academic Learning Center will be available at Mid-State on Central each Tuesday! Students can get assistance with:

• General academic tasks
• Instruction in notetaking
• Summarizing
• Reference skills
• Time management

Office hours are every Tuesday from noon to 6:00 p.m. starting August 20 and ending May 13. No appointment is necessary. Walk-ins are encouraged!
