Overview
EMT-Intermediate includes classroom lectures, practical skill labs, laboratory simulations and hospital and pre-hospital clinical experiences. Advanced skills in life support interventions, patient assessment and airway techniques are covered as well as administering intravenous fluids, drugs for shock and drugs used in diabetic emergencies.
The EMT-Intermediate curriculum emphasizes advanced-level patient assessment, communication skills and advanced life support interventions.
Students who successfully complete the program are eligible to take the National Registry of EMT's Intermediate written and practical examination.
The EMT-Intermediate program is a Technical Diploma and offered at MSTC's Marshfield, Stevens Point and Wisconsin Rapids campuses. Check each campus for starting dates. |
