Maybe you're concerned about the levels of your mathematics, reading and writing skills. Perhaps you're thinking of enrolling in college courses or applying for a new job and would like to update your skills.
ASC instructors are prepared to help you improve your skills in all of these areas. Study materials icluding workbooks, video programs and computer software are available for your use at the ASC.
Your academic skills can be evaluated through the TABE test - Test of Adult Basic Education. The complete TABE test, including all subject areas of reading, writing and mathematics, takes about three hours. You may have your skills
assessed in one or all three areas. When you have completed the test, instructors will provide you with a diagnostic profile, explain your grade-level score and discuss your areas of strengths and weaknesses.
The TABE test helps instructors to place you in appropriate study materials so that you can feel comfortable studying at the level you are at in each subject area. Post-testing with the TABE test is also available in order to determine your skill improvement or if you are considering enrolling in college classes, to determine whether you have met program or course entry requirements.
