MSTC Foundation Awards over $30,000 to High School Seniors

WISCONSIN RAPIDS—The Mid-State Technical College Foundation has awarded $31,250 to 25 area high school graduating seniors. Each scholarship has a value of $1,250 and will provide financial assistance to students enrolled in associate degree or technical diploma programs during fall 2008.

The following lists the scholarship recipients' high schools, their names, communities of residence, parents' names and MSTC program for which they are enrolled.

Glenwood City High School-Auri Offerman, Glenwood City, is the son of Larry and Judy Offerman and enrolled in the IT-Programmer/Analyst program.

Granton High School-Cory Eibergen, Granton, is the son of Keith and Pamela Eibergen and is enrolled in the Automotive Technician program. David Steinbach, Granton, is the son of Tim and Cheryl Steinbach and is enrolled in the Urban Forestry Technician program.

Greenwood High School-Amanda Saule, Willard, is the daughter of Eugene and Sherry Saule and is enrolled in the Medical Assistant program.

Jefferson High School, Bloomington, MN-Krystal Hofmeister, Bloomington, MN, is the daughter of Peter and Tracy Burchard and Arnold Hopson and is enrolled in the Nursing program.

John Edwards High School-Crystal Schuerman, Port Edwards, daughter of John and Peggy Schuerman is enrolled in the Criminal Justice-Corrections program.

Lincoln High School-Tyler Kuhn, Wisconsin Rapids, is the son of Mark and Cindy Kuhn and is enrolled in the IT-Network Special program. Kyle Patterson, Wisconsin Rapids, is the son of Robert and Valerie Patterson and is enrolled in the Accounting program. Shawn Pierce, Wisconsin Rapids, is the son of Mike and Holly Pierce and is enrolled in the Urban Forestry Technician program. Jacob Spaulding, Wisconsin Rapids, is the son of Ken Spaulding and Mary Beth Schoff and is enrolled in the IT-Network Specialist program. Alexandra Thompson, Wisconsin Rapids, is the daughter of Tom and Sandee Thompson and is enrolled in the Surgical Technologist program.

Luxemburg-Casco High School-Robin Wetmore, Casco, is the daughter of David and Louise Wetmore and is enrolled in the Accounting program.

Marshfield High School-Magen Schneider, Marshfield, is the daughter of Melody Schneider, William Gustavson and the late Richard Carolfi, Jr and is enrolled in the Nursing program.

Medford High School-Kelly Kleist, Medford, is the daughter of Jay and Ginger Kleist and is enrolled in the Civil Engineering Technology-Highway Technician program.

Neillsville High School-Ashley Oldham, Neillsville, is the daughter of Douglas and Susan Oldham and is enrolled in the Administrative Assistant program.

Nekoosa High School-Jenna Duchow, Nekoosa, is the daughter of Jim and Lori Duchow and is enrolled in the Nursing program. Joshua Lieber, Nekoosa, is the son of Mike and Wendy Lieber and is enrolled in the Urban Forestry Technician program. Bradlee Montag, Nekoosa is the son of Steve and Dawn Montag and is enrolled in the Instrumentation program.

Stevens Point Area High School-Adam Daniewicz, Stevens Point, is the son of Victor and Carmen Daniewicz and is enrolled in the IT-Network Specialist program. Brittany Patoka, Plover, is the daughter of Gerard and Lori Patoka and is enrolled in the Nursing program. James Wottreng, Junction City, is the son of John and Jane Wottreng and is enrolled in the Industrial Mechanical Technician program. Jeff Zarecki, Junction City, is the son of Richard and Doreen Zarecki and is enrolled in the Urban Forestry Technician program.

Stratford High School-April Newmier, Stratford, is the daughter of Ken and Cindy Newmier and is enrolled in the IT-Programmer/Analyst program. Kari Folz, Stratford, is the daughter of Dean and Julie Folz and is enrolled in the Laboratory Science Technician program.

Wausau East High School-Tyler Behnke, Wausau, is the son of Tim and Teresa Behnke and is enrolled in the Diesel & Heavy Equipment Technician program.

The Foundation scholarship recipients were selected by the MSTC Scholarship Selection Committee. Students' academic achievements, pre-entrance test result, extracurricular activities, and responses to essay questions were reviewed and assessed by the committee.

Established in 1979, the MSTC Foundation partners with donors to support and strengthen the college's role in serving the educational needs of central Wisconsin residents.
